We also explore her experience after a year in the position, the challenges she sees surrounding technology in the multifamily space and how OpTech can become more of an evergreen event.

Andrew Bowen serves RealPage customers and partners as a Vice President and Industry Principal dedicated to the Institutional and Build-to-Rent spaces. For over a decade, his focus has been on the tools that help investors and operators of multifamily real estate drive yield through better leveraging data and analytics.

Considered one of the experts on revenue management in multifamily, he is a regularly featured speaker on both the webcast and conference circuit, bringing a passion backed by over 20 years of operational experience to the conversation.

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science in Aquatic Biology from the University of California at Santa Barbara.  When not pontificating on the future of the industry, you can usually find him either in the gym or on the lake with his two grown “boys” and his wife of 25 years.

Sharon Wilson Geno

Sharon is the president of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC). She is a 30-year veteran of the housing industry and has helped guide numerous for-profit, nonprofit and governmental entities around housing affordability, community development and other housing policy challenges.

She most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Volunteers of America National Services (VOANS), the housing and healthcare affiliate of the Volunteers of America parent organization, one of the largest nonprofit affordable and mixed-income/mixed-use housing operators in the nation.

Before joining Volunteers of America, Sharon was a partner in a private practice in Washington DC, where she advised on housing and community development projects, government contracting, corporate structure, internal governance, and compliance with federal, state and local laws.

During her career, Sharon has served as both in-house counsel and outside General Counsel for various types of organizations. Her legal experience includes providing advice regarding government and nongovernment contracts, nonprofit organizations, corporate formation, litigation, employment law, tax law and other topics. She has also taught courses on housing law and policy at The George Washington School of Law and Georgetown University.

She has a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center, a Master of Arts in Urban Affairs from St. Louis University and a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Newcomb College of Tulane University.
