United Advertising Publications Inc. Announces Major Innovation In On-line Property Market

United Advertising Publications, Inc. (UAP) announced a major redesign of its award-winning Internet site, Apartments For Rent© Online, at the Multi-Housing World 2000 Conference in Las Vegas this March.

The substantially improved functionality of the Apartments For Rent© Online site takes advantage of linking with RealPage, Inc.’s OneSite Property. The newest addition to RealPage’s web-based apartment management tools, OneSite Property allows prospective customers to have greater choice and more detailed information on apartments in their desired location. Also, this direct link between For Rent and OneSite improves the profit opportunity of property managers and owners in that e-commerce related ancillary revenues on their customized ad will accrue to the property.

The new site features an improved, streamlined interface. In addition to searching by state, city or zip code, visitors can now search by distance. This new feature allows prospects to find apartments within a specified area. The distance search will be a great benefit, especially for apartment hunters relocating to another city. Once a property is selected, an instant preview is provided giving a photo of the property and a list of its main features and amenities.

The new site offers many advantages, both to For Rent© magazine (FRM) and its customers. Foremost among these is the ability of the advertiser to customize their ads and to benefit from new e-commerce opportunities. FRM listened to the needs of its customers and users, and responded with a new site featuring a streamlined design, the ability to deliver prospects directly to the community’s site, one of the largest databases of apartments in the U.S., and better tracking of user sessions to provide leads to the industry.

Jim Melson, president of RealPage, said: “OneSite Property enables property owners and managers to control apartment frontage on the digital highway. Content in these property-specific web sites can be continually enhanced to attract new residents and optimize ancillary revenue opportunities.”

Nigel Donaldson, CEO of UAP, Inc. said: “This new site provides greater benefits to our on-line users and the readers of the more than 24 million copies of For rent magazine picked up each year. The enhancements provide a better service to both advertisers and customers by providing one of the most complete and comprehensive databases of apartments in the market.”

The new site at www.AptsForRent.com will go live in May with more than quadruple the number of apartment listings currently featured. Donaldson added, “We expect to see an increase in the traffic to the site. For Rent‘s fantastic profile in the market and new web site with the enhanced functionality of OneSite means that there is nothing that can compete with it on the market today.”
