RealPage Deploys Automated MAC Payments for Military

Automation greatly improves accuracy and data security

(October 27, 2009) — RealPage, Inc., a leading provider of on-demand software and services to the real estate industry, today announced the deployment of Automated MAC Processing in its RealPage Military Housing system, which is currently operational in three privatized military family housing communities.

“The automation of payment and resident activities between the Military Assistance Company (MAC) platform and the RealPage Military Housing system provides managers of privatized military family housing with a higher degree of accuracy and security,” said Dave McKenna, director of military housing at RealPage.

The MAC system is the prevailing platform used in privatized military family housing to transfer rent from the Defense Finance and Accounting System to private partners who provide privatized housing on military installations. The RealPage Military Housing system provides a “set-and-forget” capability in which monthly rent payments are automatically posted to resident records a soon as the data is made available in the MAC system.

“Our Military Housing system detects the availability of MAC data and instantly transfers the payment data to the service member’s resident record,” said McKenna. “It also generates and delivers the required resident updates (MIMO file) to MAC on the standard twice-monthly schedule. No human intervention is necessary in either operation, reducing the possibility of errors.”

Automation also maximizes the privacy of the service members by ensuring that personal information is never exposed at any point in the posting cycle.
