(November 1, 2001) —RealPage, Inc., a leading provider of property management products and services to the multifamily industry, today announced that Berkshire Realty Holdings L.P. has successfully launched its public web site through the aid of OneSiteTM Property, one of the nine product centers from RealPage’s web-based property management system.
Berkshire Realty Holdings is a privately owned real estate investment and management firm headquartered in Boston. The company desired to expand its service to customers by creating an online presence that would enable employees to interact directly with residents as well as prospects. Berkshire chose OneSite Property, a web-based tool that allows property management companies to facilitate interaction between the apartment community and the public. It manages the task of preparing content for inclusion on a property web site or brochure and for use by multiple Internet listing services through a single repository of information.
“Our web site, www.berkshireapartments.com, combines the functionality of OneSite Property and a corporate web site,” said Dan Robertson, vice president of information systems for Berkshire. “It allows us to market our properties, recruit staff and communicate to employees and investors all from one location on the Internet. It’s an important step in our plan to use the Internet to improve our business.”
RealPage’s professional services staff worked closely with Berkshire in the design, development and implementation of the web site. “RealPage is very excited to have
completed the successful launch of the Berkshire Realty web site,” said Mike Munoz, RealPage’s vice president of professional services. “Several groups from both companies came together and created a great example of how OneSite Property can integrate with a corporate web presence to establish a powerful communication tool for prospects, residents, employees and investors.” Additionally, RealPage will provide the hosting and maintenance for Berkshire’s site.
“We are very pleased with the layout of the web site. It is concise, pleasing to the eye and the graphics are colorful and accentuate the photography we have included,” said Robertson. “The content is exactly as we planned and will be continuously updated to reflect current issues within Berkshire Realty. I think it is a web site that we can all be proud of.”
Several hundred apartment communities are in the process of rolling out OneSite Property, the second product from RealPage’s web-based property management system. The first product center, OneSite Screening, has been in operation for over a year with thousands of users. Three other product centers—OneSite Leasing and Rents, OneSite Facilities and OneSite Learning—join OneSite Screening and OneSite Property in general availability. The remaining four product centers from the OneSite suite—OneSite Compliance, OneSite Purchasing, OneSite Revenue Management and OneSite Budgeting—will be released in the coming months. Together, the nine product centers form a comprehensive suite of e-business, browser-based tools that fully automate important property management functions.
Berkshire Realty Holdings purchased its first multifamily property in 1969 and today has more than 26,000 apartment units under management. Throughout Berkshire’s history, the company’s guiding principle has remained a commitment to providing exceptional service to residents and a challenging and rewarding work environment for staff.
