Apartment demand up in East Valley, but warnings sounded

EAST VALLEY TRIBUNE (October 23, 2017) – Demand for apartment housing is up across the Phoenix Metro area – particularly in East Valley cities like Tempe, Chandler and Gilbert – but concerning employment trends could serve as a warning against increasing the supply of multifamily properties in the Valley.

A recent report by National Apartment Association found that the Phoenix Metro area would have to add 150,000 new apartments by 2030 to meet demand. Nationwide, the U.S. would have to 4.6 million new units over that span to meet demand, according to the report.
