Birmingham Business Journal (January 22, 2020) — Huntsville tops the list of small metros with the biggest rent hikes nationwide.
According to a report from RealPage (NASDAQ: RP), the Alabama city is facing a 7.9% growth rate.
That growth rate is higher than others in its category, including Bakersfield, California (7.5%), Tacoma, Washington (6.4%) and Tuscon, Arizona (6.2%). Huntsville’s growth rate is almost as high as the growth rate leader in the large metro category, which is Phoenix, Arizona, at 8.1%. Other large metros logging year-over-year rent growth that tops 5 percent are Las Vegas and Nashville.
