Going forward, every RPX AppPartner and Registered Vendor application will now require certification to ensure they are performant and compliant, ensuring your data’s and our systems’ ongoing security and stability.

For Vendors

These updates give you access to a robust ecosystem, taking advantage of improved documentation, easy deployment management, advanced API features and marketing and collaboration opportunities.

The RPX enhancements include three major parts: launching new features, modernizing existing APIs and boosting API governance through certification

Launching new APIs and partner benefits

Enabling secure, efficient, easy-to-scale integrations by launching new APIs and partner benefits. New APIs will be released on a rolling basis. Beyond new APIs, RealPage is rolling out partner marketing and collaboration opportunities for AppPartner applications. This adds to the suite of existing partner benefits, with more to come over time.

Modernizing existing APIs

Enabling easier integrations, less ongoing maintenance, and API versioning by modernizing existing APIs. Examples include converting certain APIs to REST and introducing an event-based framework for key business functions.

Boosting API governance

Enhanced API governance in two ways: First, all applications will undergo a certification review to ensure quality, scalability, stability and security. Second, Registered Vendor applications, will undergo additional review before deploying to new clients.

What this means:

Existing AppPartner and Registered Vendor applications that have had a recent review will not require further action at this time. AppPartner and Registered Vendor applications that have not undergone an infosec review in the past year will require review. RealPage will reach out to AppPartner or Registered Vendor application vendors if they require review.
All current, non-RPX applications must go through the RPX registration and certification process. Non-RPX applications will no longer be allowed. We will continue to support existing applications until the registration and certification process is complete. Any API expansion request will require review.
The outcome of the RPX certification process can be:
- Approval as an “AppPartner application”: The application is approved for use within the Integration Marketplace across RealPage clients.
- Approval as a “Registered Vendor application”: The application is approved and only available for use for the identified RealPage customer(s). Deployment to additional RealPage customers will require additional review.
- Rejection: the application is not approved and cannot access RealPage systems.
- The application requires additional review.

What this means:

We will partner with our customers and vendors to support them going through the RPX registration and certification process as appropriate.

Vendors Frequently Asked Questions

My vendor’s application is already an RPX AppPartner or Registered Vendor application. Do they need to take action to meet the program’s new requirements?

Existing AppPartner or Registered Vendor applications that have not undergone a security review in the past year will require review. AppPartner or Registered Vendor applications that have had a recent review will not require further action at this time. RealPage will reach out to AppPartner or Registered Vendor application vendors if they require review.
Non-RPX applications must register with RPX and undergo certification.

Which vendor applications will be in scope for RPX certification?

All vendor applications are in scope and will be required to go through the certification process.

Will vendors require new credentials?

All vendors will require a RealPage-provided API key to call Online Data Exchanges (ODEs).

What is the difference between an AppPartner and a Registered Vendor application?

Both AppPartner and Registered Vendor applications are certified to access our systems.
The difference is:
- AppPartner applications: The application has a more extensive review and certification, and the vendor is licensing APIs on the client's behalf.
- Registered Vendor applications: The application is reviewed for the required API access and the client is licensing APIs on the vendor's behalf.

Is application certification required for each additional site?

For Registered Vendor applications, the application is only available for use by the identified RealPage customer(s). Expansion to additional customers requires approval. Registered Vendors must request to be visible in the Integration Marketplace per client. AppPartner applications will be available for all clients in the Integration Marketplace.

All changes are effective immediately.

How long do I have to get current vendors through the RPX registration and certification process before they lose access?

We will continue to support existing applications until the registration and certification process is complete.

The vendors should submit a support ticket via https://www.realpage.com/support/ and select RealPage Exchange as the support product.

To Take Action

Existing AppPartner and Registered Vendor applications currently available on RPX are not required to take action at this time (RealPage is performing its certification process and will reach out directly if needed). You can visit the RPX Developer Portal to take advantage of new capabilities and partner benefits.

All current, non-RPX applications now need to go through the RPX registration and certification process. Vendors should go here to register with RPX and begin certification. We will continue to support existing applications until the registration and certification process is complete. However, during this interim time, any expansion for existing non-RPX applications, including adding new sites and/or changes at current sites, will require review.
