The three largest apartment markets in Connecticut – New Haven, Hartford and Bridgeport – are scheduled to collectively hit the highest volume of new supply on record for this area in 2022. Nearly 4,600 new units are slated to be delivered across these three markets in calendar 2022. Bridgeport will receive more than 2,400 units of new supply, followed by more than 1,200 units in New Haven and more than 900 new apartments in Hartford. Individually, these volumes mark an all-time high for calendar-year deliveries in Bridgeport and New Haven. In Hartford, supply scheduled to deliver in 2022 marks a rate well above average, although not a record pace. Bridgeport and Hartford both have about 60,000 existing apartment units, compared to nearly 90,000 units of inventory in Hartford.
