New apartment supply in Cincinnati will set a record in 2022. The market is scheduled to see delivery of over 3,500 units of new supply – the highest recorded annual volume since RealPage began tracking the market. That pace compares to about 1,000 new units that hit the market in 2021. New deliveries will be spread throughout the market in the coming year, with seven of the market’s nine submarkets scheduled to receive at least 300 new units. Central Cincinnati will claim the most new apartment supply (899 units) while North Central Cincinnati is not far behind (700 new units). Campbell/Kenton Counties is scheduled to get about 500 units in 2022, while Boone County/Erlanger and Northeast Cincinnati/Warren County will each gain about 400 units. West Cincinnati and Butler County are both scheduled to receive about 300 new units. Only Southeast Cincinnati and North Cincinnati are scheduled to go without annual deliveries in the coming year.
